Java Institute

Java Institute for Advanced Technology previously known as IJTS was founded in 2005 to prepare students only for the globally recognized Sun Certified Java Programmer Examination offered by Sun Micro systems USA. The small institute which was started only with a few students transformed within few years to one of the largest institutes in Sri Lanka which offer not only all the related technologies to Java Programming Language and Java Technology but also all academic contents relevant to Software Engineering Graduate Qualification specialized in Java Technology.

The Java Institute for Advanced Technology recently added yet another milestone when it ceremonially received the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Center Approval Status. The Chairman of the Java Institute for Advanced Technology, Dr. Ishantha Siribaddana, received the prestigious SQA Center Approval Certificate by Mrs. Margaret Curran, the International Regional Manager of the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).

There is no doubt that Java institute is the largest among Java Technology providing Institutes not only in Sri Lanka but also globally. Today Java Institute accommodates over 4000 students in 4 branches in the main cities such as Colombo, Kandy, Kurunegala and Gamapaha. Two research centers located in Biyagama and Nugegoda for Robotics and Web Technology respectively  strengthens the capability of the Institute.

My school is Isipathana College. It is a national school located in Colombo... It's one of the leading National School in Sri Lanka...

So my school founded in January 1952 2nd of Feb as Greenland College on Greenland road. The first principle was Mr. B.A. Kuruppu. In 1961 Greenlands Road had been renamed as "Isipathana Mawatha". After that the school was renamed as "Isipathana Maha Vidyalaya".

My School's mottoes is 
                              Pali         :දළගං පගණත විරියං"
                              Sinhala  : "අදිටනින් වෙර වඩමු"
                              English  : Strive With Determination

Dark and Light Green are the main colors of our school.
There are 200 staff and 5000 enrollment in Isipathana College.

My school was,

1. The first school to publish a periodical childrens' news paper with an editorial board consisting of students only.
2. The first school to provide the learning of Japanese language and culture from grade 2 onward.
3. The first school to be Triple Champions in Sri Lanka School Rugby.
4. The first school to produce a Cadet Platoon band.
5. The first school to produce a Test Player who turned Test Umpire.
6. The first school to develop a web site for an UN Organization by its students.
7. The first school to produce a photographic laboratory.
8. The first school to produce a Test Cricketer to take first hat-trick for Sri Lanka.
9. The first school to produce a documentary of the school on a CD.
10. The school that produced the first ever Sri Lankan to be appointed by the International Rugby Board as the Referee Trainer for the Asian Region.

Isipathana College play Thurstan in their Annual Big Match and it is called "Battle of Brothers" .

Sport is a major part of Isipathana College, with over 15 different sports played.

Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Carrom, Chess, Cricket, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Karate, Rugby, Swimming, Table tennis, Tennis, Volleyball, Taekwondo & Boxing....

This is my school and I'm really proud to be a Pathanian....
